Most drugs have two names, a generic name e.g. Paracetamol and a brand name e.g. Panadol. When the Medicines and healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approves your generic drugs, it ensures they are both safe and effective. All generic drugs are put through a rigorous multi-step approval process. From quality and performance to manufacturing and labelling, everything must meet the high standards of the MHRA.
All generic drugs used in Northern Ireland have gone through this approval process. In line with EHSSB policy, Kerrsland Surgery supports the use of generic drugs.
